January -
01/20/08 - Congratulations to Livia Quan and JD for picking up their second Rally Novice Q at their second trial
entered! I couldn't be prouder of their success as they go two for two!
01/14/08 - RUMOR moves up 9 spots in the ASCA Conformation Merit standings to #10!!! Rumor has
accomplished this with only 4 weekends shown!!

03/29/08 - Congrats to RIOT as he returns to the agility ring (we haven't run a single course in 7 months!)
and qualifies in Open Regular. He also ran three beautiful runs in Gamblers and each of which were
spoiled by me!! I swear...it's a wonder he puts up with me sometimes! *LOL*
03/25/08 - Happy Birthday to RIOT!!! I just can't believe it's been 7 years already!! I am so lucky to have
the greatest dog in the world! Yes....I am biased! *LOL*
Speaking of Riot....We are thrilled to announce our 2008 litter here at Marabil to be sired by Riot. Check
out the PUPPIES page for more information on this awesome cross. Reservations are filling fast!!

05/25/08 - I am so excited to introduce Marabil's very first Bred-By Champion!! LUKE went Winners Dog over
a large entry (20+) for a 5 point major on Sunday to finish his ASCA Championship at just 17 months of age!!
(win picture below) I really want to give my sincere thanks to my friends who cheered (or in Regi's
case...screamed) Luke on to his victory in Winners! All of you made this accomplishment that much more
special for me. Congrats to Luke's co-owners Veronica and Aaron. You guys ROCK!!!
Once again, not wanting to be totally outdone by her brother, CINDER was Reserve Winners Bitch under
Senior Breeder Judge Lynn Cobb-Conn on Saturday with over 30 bitches entered and both she and LASSEN
won their classes on Sunday and made the final cut in Winners! Way to go girlies!!
05/18/08 - What a great weekend!! We took CINDER
and LUKE to the NorCal UKC show circuit this weekend
hoping for a little all breed ring time for these two young
dogs and we never imagined how well they would end up
doing! Cinder was Winners Bitch at all four shows with
two major wins. She also went Best of Winners and Best
of Breed twice. Both times in the Herding Group, Cinder
took Group 2 honors!
Not to be outdone in anyway, Luke was Winners Dog all
four shows and also picked up two major wins going Best
of Winners and Best of Breed twice, but unlike his sister
he took back to back Herding Group wins and was
BEST IN SHOW under Aussie judge, George Warner, at
just 17 months old!! He's obviously following in mommy
Rumor's footsteps!
I was thrilled with the performances of both Cinder and
Luke and we received tons of compliments on them both!!
Big congrats to Luke's co-owners Veronica and Aaron.
05/03/08 - After taking the last month or so off, we headed out to the AKC Sanctioned Match today for a little
ring time practice with Cinder. Imagine how thrilled we were to come home with a Best of Breed and Herding
Group 1 under Breeder Judge Lynda Lopez! Big thanks to Lynda for all her wonderful compliments on Cinder!

06/28/08 - Great news all around!! RUMOR ends the 2007/2008 ASCA show year at #26 with very limited
showing and qualifies for the National Conformation Finals in Las Vegas!! Then today at the UKC show,
CINDER goes WB/BOW/BOB and Herding Group 1 at the AM show to finish her UKC Championship at
just 18 months of age! Then "baby brother" (by 30 minutes) LUKE gives repeat performance in the PM
show going WD/BOW/BOB and Herding Group 1 as well to finish his UKC Championship! What a great
day!!!
06/05/08 - Marabil has our first bred by AKC title winner!! Huge congrats to Livia Quan and JD for picking

by taking First Place with a score of 98!! What makes this even better is that they earn their title taking a
Q every time in the ring!! I couldn't be prouder of their success!!

only a few times in the ring, they are already taking home the BIG
ribbons in Junior Showmanship!! Alyssa showed Canny to a Reserve
Junior Handler win in the PASA show under judge Nadine Grady.

08/16/08 - CINDER picks up her first AKC points today going Winners

only a few times in the ring, they are already taking home the BIG

09/21/08 - What an AWESOME weekend for Rumor and her kids at the NorCal ASC show in Dixon. Here's the

CINDER wins the large Bred By class all three times shown and, with over 30 bitches entered at each show,
goes Winners Bitch under Senior Breeder Judge Carol Ann Hartnagle for her first ASCA Major and also goes
Reserve Winners Bitch under Senior Breeder Judge Becky DeLeon.
LASSEN wins a huge Open Black class and goes Reserve Winners Bitch under Senior Breeder Judge Carol
Ann Hartnagle. It was such a kick to have the sisters be the two girls pulled for Winners! It was a win/win either
way! Congrats to Elise for doing such a great job handling her girl!
J.D. picked up two Reserve Winners Dog wins in the Altered ring. Can't wait to get this boy to Nationals!
LUKE goes Best of Breed on Sunday in his first weekend out as a Special over several top ranked specials!
I am so proud of this young dog and see a really bright future for him. Congrats to Veronica and Aaron on
Luke's big win.
Finally...not to be out done by her kids, RUMOR was shown only twice and goes Best of Breed on Saturday
under Senior Breeder Judge Becky DeLeon and Best Opposite on Sunday under Breeder Judge Linda Buell.
09/07/08 - CINDER keeps the winning going in AKC - she goes Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best of
Breed on Saturday! She did an awesome job in the group as well and we got lots of cheers and compliments.

11/30/08 - Congrats to CINDER for going Winners Bitch and Best of Winners today at the Delta ASF show in
Turlock under Breeder Judge, Linda Buell (picture below). This win brings Cinder within just 1 point of her ASCA
Championship with all points earned under Breeder Judges!
11/17/08 - We're back from Nationals and I could not
be happier with how well the dogs did! The big winner
was JD who placed at all Pre-Shows with two 2nds and
a 3rd, including going Altered Reserve Winners Dog at
the Cascade Pre-Show, and then topped off the week
by taking 1st place in a huge Open Blue class and
Altered Reserve Winners Dog at the Nationals
itself. Also, CINDER took second in a BBX class of
over 30 at the Pre-Show (she was not shown at Nationals).
As always, RUMOR gave me a truly awesome performance throughout the Nationals and really shined in the
Conformation Finals. Both Senior Breeder Judge Barb Hager and Lori Middleton ranked Rumor 4th among their
Finals dogs. My thanks to both judges for acknowledging Rumor so highly in their final scores and also to the
scores of people who complimented Rumor's performances throughout the week. Standing in the big arena
during Finals, Rumor brought tears to my eyes...because to me, she is truly the definition of a SPECIAL. As one
breeder said to me..."She takes my breath away!" I am going to really miss showing my girl in the breed ring, but
she has nothing left to prove and will be moving on to new adventures and of course, motherhood! It made this
Nationals a little bittersweet, but how lucky am I that she is mine??? Rumor you're the BEST!!!
