01/20/09 - Got the most amazing call tonight!  Apparently
there was a clerical error in the judging at the National
Conformation Finals and
Rumor should have placed 8th!
WOW!!  I am so overwhelmed by the news and I couldn't
be happier for my girl to get this recognition.  I was already
so happy that Rumor had placed 4th under two of the three
judges, so to now find out that she did make the top 10 after
all is really amazing!  A top 10 finish at Finals was our only
goal going into Nationals.  I guess I really shouldn't be
surprised that my little blue girl came through once again....
she's been exceeding every expectation for the last six and
a half years!

01/15/09 - We are excited to welcome four new babies to Marabil Aussies!  The Riot x Canny puppies are
here and can be seen on the
Puppies page.

01/10/09 - Congrats to LUKE for doing so well at the International Show this weekend!  Shown only twice,
Luke was undefeated in both Best of Breed and Bred By Exhibitor, and also picked up back to back Group
2's!

Luke will be shown on a very limited basis this year as he continues to mature, but he will still be very busy as
he has started his herding training and is a real natural.  Luke is proving himself to be a steady worker with a
natural drive.  Look for him to start trialing later this year.
March -

03/29/09 - Well the first ASCA show for us this year was a GREAT one!!  Our pick puppy from the Riot x Canny
cross and newest Marabil addition,
Razor (Marabil's Dressed So Sharp), made his ASCA debut in style with
back-to-back Best of Opposite Sex Puppy wins at just 10 weeks old with a very large puppy entry and littermate,
Tater (Marabil's Dressed So Cool) took 4th in the large 2-4 dog class.  Way to go Lori!

The big kids (as I am now calling Rumor's puppies) did great too.
JD took Reserve Winners Dog to an Altered
Major
and Cinder won the huge BBX class and was pulled in Winners.  The BIG winner of the weekend was
Lassen who really shined in a large Open Black class and went on to take Winners Bitch over an entry of 45
class bitches
!  She topped it by going Best of Winners and was pulled for breed!  Congrats to Lassen's owner
Elise.  Thanks so much for asking me to show Lassen!  I had a blast with her in the ring!!
April -

04/18/09 - It's been more than six months since we've gone to an AKC show, but boy are we glad we did!  CINDER
went
Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex today at the AKC show in Vallejo for 2 more points.  That brings
Cinder to 5 points in AKC with only a few weekends shown.

Also, big brags for a couple of
RIOT babies in the obedience ring.   First off, congrats to Woujie Mailer and her
boy,
Gader, who took back-to-back Q's this weekend in Novice B his first weekend out for his first two legs towards
his ASCA CD!!  Gader did it in style adding High in Trial Aussie honors as well.  Then, I heard from Kitty Hopper
that her Riot daughter,
Joy, has started gearing up for obedience debut as well with two match wins at AKC Border
Collie matches.  Both times out Joy has score over 198 and been High in Match.  Can't wait to see this girl in the
ring going for her Q's!
May -

05/31/09 - Big congrats to Aaron Martinez and LUKE at their very first herding trial this weekend.  The two first
timers did a great job and earned Luke's AKC Pre-Trial Tested title!!  Way to go boys!  This is Marabil's first bred
by herding title.  I couldn't be prouder of you both!  Thank you to R.J. Wiley for the great pictures of Luke working!

Also competing at the AKC herding trial on Saturday only was
Riot's daughter, FLIRT.  I heard that she wowed the
judges with her performance and that they could not stop raving about her!  Watch for Flirt in ASCA later this
year with her breeder/owner Gina Stubblefield of Hotwire Australian Shepherds.

05/24/09 - The ASCA show in Dixon brought us a great new accomplishment!  J.D. took Altered Winners Dog
on Saturday (pictured below) and
Altered Best of Winners & Winners Dog on Sunday for his first ASCA
points!!  This now makes four of six Rumor kids to either complete their ASCA Championship or be ASCA
pointed!!  Thanks to Gina Stubblefield for showing JD on Saturday for me.   Congrats to Elise & Lassen on
winning the Movement Class under NR Breeder Judge, Regi Gravette.

05/02/09 - We've started the month off with a bang! Getting in a little building practice, CINDER took Best of
Breed
and Herding Group 1 honors today over a nice line up of herding dogs at the Mensona KC sanctioned
match.

RIOT passes his TDI certification with flying colors and is now a Certified Therapy Dog!!
July -

07/26/09 - It was a long hot weekend, but RIOT still managed to get the Q I was hoping for and he finished his
ASCA Open Sheep title today.  I could not have been prouder of him at his first trial back after an achilles tear last
year.  I have to say, all Q's aside, I love this dog with all that I am and I am still wondering what I did to deserve
such an awesome boy!  (Pictures to follow...)

07/04/09 - We did two ASCA shows this weekend and, despite the heat (I am not a fan of temps over 100 *LOL*),
we came home with two big ribbons!

RUMOR picked up her second Best of Breed win in the altered ring, this win under Breeder Judge Linda Buell,
and
RAZOR went Best of Breed Puppy over a nice size puppy entry.
August -

08/20/09 - LUKE picked up two points in AKC this weekend going Winners Dog & Best of Winners at the Santa
Rosa circuit.  This was Luke's first time in the AKC ring since being shown once as a puppy.  He is such a doll!

08/08/09 - We went for one day of the PASA show and came home with some nice wins.  RUMOR picked up back
to back
Best of Breed wins in the altered ring under Senior Breeder Judges, Carol Earnest and Sheila Polk.  JD
was
Altered Winners Dog and Best Opposite at both shows.  LASSEN picked up her second ASCA Major going
Winners Bitch under Sheila Polk and she was also pulled for Best of Breed!  Forrest...I mean Elise...did a great job
showing Lassen! (Run Forrest...run!!)  Congrats girls you made me proud!
09/13/09 - RUMOR takes back to back Best of Breed wins in the altered ring again
this weekend with a large entry both shows and
JD was Altered Winners Dog and
Best Opposite
over a special at one show and Reserve Winners dog at the other
two!

09/07/09 - LUKE wins the BBX class both days at the Redwood Empire AKC shows
this weekend and
RAZOR went Best of Breed Puppy and got a great look in the
large Herding Puppy Group!  Good job boys!! Pictures to come.
September -

09/26 - 09/30/09 - RUMOR  and I made the flight to Colorado to participate in the ASCA National Specialty & Pre-shows this
week and we couldn't be happier with our results!!  Rumor was awarded
ALTERED PREMIER CHAMPION at all three
pre-shows and then at the National Specialty, Rumor took a 2nd place in Veteran Sweeps (with nearly 30 entered), a 4th
place in Veterans (again with over 20 entered) and
PREMIER CHAMPION under Senior Breeder Judge Erica Pruitt.  In
fact, Rumor was pulled to the
final three for Best of Breed!!

09/20/09 - CINDER  goes Winners Bitch on Saturday at the NorCal shows to finish her ASCA CHAMPIONSHIP under Senior
Breeder Judge Janet Kelly!!  She then keeps up the winning on Sunday by going
Best of Breed under Senior Breeder
Judge Kris Churchill in her first time out as a special!!

RUMOR also had a great weekend sweeping the Altered ring with Best of Breed wins at all three shows!  Rounding out the
group,
JD was Altered Reserve Winners Dog on Saturday!
November -

11/30/09 - What a fun way to close out the year! RUMOR  goes Best of Breed Altered at three of the four Delta shows this
weekend and
Best Opposite at the fourth show.  There were a number of altered Specials out this weekend, so the wins
were extra nice.

11/22/09 - RIOT  does me proud again.  After nearly two years off from agility, Riot qualifies in two of his four runs this
weekend to finish his RV-O title in ASCA taking first place both runs.  To make it even better, this was the final title needed
to put Riot's wonderful sire, Cagney (AKC/ASCA Ch. Git'n Toasted at Sundown, OA NAJ RS-E GS-O JS-E EAC EJC OGC)
in the
ASCA HALL OF FAME!!! Congratulations to Cagney's breeder/owner, Ric Pittman of Sundown Australian Shepherds
on this wonderful achievement.  Cagney is truly deserving of the honor!

11/08/09 - CINDER  goes Best of Breed Amateur Owner Handler at the Wine Country Kennel Club show today and then
follows that up with a
GROUP 4 in the AOH Herding Group.  The club was offering $1,000 to BIS AOH, so the competition
was fierce! LOL   In the breed ring, both Cinder and
LUKE repeated yesterday by taking Reserve.  Yesterday, RAZOR
went Best of Breed Puppy and turned in an awesome performance in a HUGE group.  His first time in an indoor ring and
the regular group rings going at the same time with all of the yelling, and Ray just worked the ring like he'd done it 100
times before!  In the breed ring, both
CINDER and LUKE took Reserve.

11/01/09 - GADER finishes his AKC CD title today with a score of 196.5 and takes High Scoring Aussies and High Scoring
Titling Dog
. Congrats to Gader's owner/handler Woujie Mailer and to his breeders, Gitalong and Hotwire Aussies.  We are
very proud of this
Riot son.

October -

10/23/09 - RUMOR  is Best Veteran in Specialty Sweeps at the USASA Regional Specialty in Dixon.

10/10/09 - CINDER  goes Winners Bitch, Best Opposite and Best of Breed Amateur Owner Handler at the Yuba City show
today (our only day entered) and then follows that up with a
GROUP 1 in the AOH Herding Group!
